ELL 220 18th c. Prose and Poetry

 

This course first introduces students to the political, intellectual and  socio-economic changes that took place in the 18th c. England. Then it focuses on the Neo- Classical literary theory and satire as the major literary mode of the period.

The Northon Antology of Englih Literature is the main textbook of the course.
